Petition banned! According to 38 degrees it is ‘inappropriate’ to speak up for the rights of women to equal opportunities, privacy, and even a name for our distinctive physiology. Thanks to the many who signed our petition; sorry you were silenced. We will not be made to shut up about ourselves.
Parliament believes it can magically erase biological sex differences with a new sex change law. Hypnotised by the trans community’s charm & sparkle, UK politicians are dancing to a tune that’s causing a huge number of problems in Canada and California, which have similar laws already.
FPFW‘s Rogues Gallery will be an occasional series; lest we forget. The issue is male violence, not “violence in general”. Women aren’t violent like men are. We have less violence here in the UK than some other countries, but this doesn’t mean we should accept male abuse that British women suffer.
It turns out that claiming a transgender identity is a coat of armour against justifiable criticisms of male violence. In a way, it’s magical. Even a homicidal bigot can be insulated from the wrath of social justice criticisms if he claims to be trapped in the wrong gender.
Just thinking about this transgender ideology, this insistence that a woman is someone who ‘feels’ like a woman and it’s nothing to do with bodies or biology. I just wanted to point out that most women HATE their bodies. Trans women seem very, very confused about what the reality of women’s lives are like. They don’t have the monopoly on feeling like you’re ‘in the wrong body’; every single woman I know has a really complicated relationship with her body.
Only about one in five trans people undergo ‘sex reassignment’ surgery. Approx 75% of trans women have a functioning penis. Tara Hudson, the “beautician” who supposedly lived her entire life as a woman, neglected to mention his real profession as a ‘she-male’ (his word) prostitute and sex performer, or that he refers to himself as a bloke. Although he’s a very violent male, Hudson served his time in a prison full of women.
All transgender people should have the right to live their lives free from violence & discrimination. In certain circumstances transgender people have needs that differ from those of members of the sex with which they identify. In these circumstances a clash of rights arises. If the proposed changes go ahead, abusive men will be able to access women’s shelters and prisons. Click to learn more.
Transgender people should be treated with dignity and respect. However there are a series of recommendations in the report which risk unintended consequences for the safety and wellbeing of women and girls. They mean that violent male offenders could demand access to women only spaces and services such as refuges, rape crisis centres and prisons simply by claiming to identify as a woman, whether or not this was the case. This is already happening in the UK.
