Petition banned! According to 38 degrees it is ‘inappropriate’ to speak up for the rights of women to equal opportunities, privacy, and even a name for our distinctive physiology. Thanks to the many who signed our petition; sorry you were silenced. We will not be made to shut up about ourselves.
Parliament believes it can magically erase biological sex differences with a new sex change law. Hypnotised by the trans community’s charm & sparkle, UK politicians are dancing to a tune that’s causing a huge number of problems in Canada and California, which have similar laws already.
Male violence goes under-reported. Crimes of violence by trans-identified males – a rising subset – passes almost totally unremarked. In many cases, discussions are shut down with startling force. We wonder why this is, and offer a Rogues’ Gallery to help counter the false claim that transgender violence “never happens”.
FPFW‘s Rogues Gallery will be an occasional series; lest we forget. The issue is male violence, not “violence in general”. Women aren’t violent like men are. We have less violence here in the UK than some other countries, but this doesn’t mean we should accept male abuse that British women suffer.
Transgender animal rights activist updates us on his campaigning activities around England. Hope Lye witnesses male violence towards women, while enjoying comparative safety in his favourite pink’n’black outfits. Transgender claims of vulnerability seem exaggerated at best, yet advocates openly threaten violence to females.
I am woman; hear me roar, As I bow my respect to the fight, Of those who went before, Whose lives were given to my right. The mothers, grandmothers, sisters all, Who forged a way, set me afloat, So that I may now stand tall, Work, love, live, own, vote.
All transgender people should have the right to live their lives free from violence & discrimination. In certain circumstances transgender people have needs that differ from those of members of the sex with which they identify. In these circumstances a clash of rights arises. If the proposed changes go ahead, abusive men will be able to access women’s shelters and prisons. Click to learn more.
Transgender people should be treated with dignity and respect. However there are a series of recommendations in the report which risk unintended consequences for the safety and wellbeing of women and girls. They mean that violent male offenders could demand access to women only spaces and services such as refuges, rape crisis centres and prisons simply by claiming to identify as a woman, whether or not this was the case. This is already happening in the UK.
Re-posted from Smashing Gender Change by the admirable Hope “Street Voice” Lye: The ‘Not Guilty’ verdict for Ched Evans in his recent re-trial for rape has left many women angry and rightfully so. This has sent rape trials back 30 years where the defence can use any means to attack the victim
On my facebook feed the other night I saw a friend reporting that his two-year-old twins want to be an owl and a sheep respectively. Cue lols and hearts. I clicked on his page; they’d all just been on a half-term trip to a farm. There they were, beaming, with
Imagine if you will, two lefty men, deeply concerned for the oppressed, talking about, idunno, a man claiming JSA in the Welsh Valleys and the new Duke of Westminster, and why they are both in the situations they are in. What might come up in this conversation? Capitalism and its history,
Pretty much every woman I know has experienced sexual harassment, sexual assault or rape. I have. All three. More than once. I didn’t talk about it. We don’t do we? Sometimes, we can’t even label it. It’s too hard and it goes against the socialisation we have had since birth.
Childhood: the first messages. Directed at me! Me, a present-dwelling little stir of thoughts and emotions, hungers, sadnesses, furies and delights. There were men who knew better than me what I was: aged nine, a ‘future heartbreaker’, at twelve, something that could be touched, grabbed, at random, at will. Their
