Dr Nicola Williams

4th February 2019 by FPFW

Introducing our spokeswoman, Dr Nicola Williams

Dr Nicola Williams is a research scientist specialising in human biology and has held a number of senior scientific positions within the pharmaceutical industry. She is now dedicated to her full-time volunteer role as a writer and speaker on reform of the Gender Recognition Act (GRA) and sex-based rights for women and children.

Nicola Williams
She is the author of a recent study on transgender prisoners, has submitted written evidence to the Prison planning inquiry conducted by Commons Justice Select Committee and was a participant in a parliamentary meeting for MPs to hear women’s views on GRA reform.

Dr Williams has an excellent working knowledge of the laws designed to protect women and the transgender community. She has written a series of easy-to-read articles and fact-sheets to promote awareness and understanding of the rights we have and need to build on. She also has an expert knowledge of the science and statistics used in the debate on sex and gender and can offer a critical and informed view of the research in the field. She has a particular interest in the sex-based rights of women in both prison and sports.

As the Director and spokeswoman for Fair Play For Women she appears regularly on both radio and television. She provides an expert opinion on the sex-based rights of women, enabling a balanced and informed discussion in what has become a very sensitive and controversial topic of debate.
